I need instructions to hookup the backup light switch on my 63 vette. Where does it attach to the 4 speed Borg Warner tranny? If anyone has a picture they could send me I would appreciate it. Also did the early 63 vettes have a neutral safety switch on the tranmission. Thanks in advance for your help. Larry LMa1939@aol.com

Re: 63 vette backup light switch
Here's what the backup light switch installation looks like on the side cover; this is a '67 Muncie, but the '63 T-10 is virtually identical - details are in the T-86 section near the back of your '63 Assembly Manual. '63 Powerglides had a neutral safety switch mounted on the forward end of the tranmission case, 4-speeds had none.

Re: 63 vette backup light switch
Larry,
Not 100% sure about this but I believe the new for late 63 production back up light option entered production after the Borg Warner transmission was replaced with the new Muncie unit. When was your car assembled? The switch for a Muncie would be different and would not bolt on a Borg Warner.- Top
