The NCRS second edition (there is a third edition now) lists part number 336790 as the correct thermostat housing for a 73 L48/L82. Can someone verify that this is correct. I find loads of 336773 and 3877660 when I do a web search but practically nothing on 336790.
Also thanks to Jack H., Patrick H., and Gerald F. for the help with the washer pump on the car. It is now working again after a long 20+ year hiatus. I used the original parts (w/original umbrella valves) with a new triple o ring put it back together as I metioned and was getting a vacuum on the reservoir end. I about had to herniate myself but I could get flow blowing in the opposite direction. I tried the system this morning and NO luck.
At this point I was hoping it wasn't the pump itself. I took the valve asm back apart and examined the old umbrella valves, they seemed okay but maybe on the hard side. I took the umbrella valves out of the repair kit piece and removed the old ones from the original piece. I wanted to use the old plastic/delrin to keep the look and wear consistent versus the white replacement contrasted against the 33 year old base. The umbrella valves in the new piece were more pliable and seemed a lot more willing to allow flow then the old ones. I fired her up and the washer worked. In fact it about soaked everything within about 5 feet of the car.
