I have a new set of Corvette America 67 bolt on wheels. Could someone let me know the proper way to balance them and where the wheel weights go. I just know they are supposed to be "static balanced". Thanks.

Re: 67 bolt on wheels
You can balance them with weights on the outside and inside edges to look original, OH find a source for the correct weights.
Better still find a very good shop that will balance by placing stick on weights inside the rims (outside tire of course) - no marks on rim, but not original.- Top

Re: 67 bolt on wheels
The reproduction wheels won't accept weights on the outside of the rim flange; the section is machined differently than it was on the originals.
Go to www.GSP9700.com (Hunter Engineering) and use the locator feature to find the nearest shop/dealer to you that has a Hunter GSP9700 balancer and have them balance your tires/wheels; their system also identifies/compensates for static and fully-loaded radial and lateral runout.
I authored a 4-page article in the March, 2005 issue of "Corvette Enthusiast" magazine that describes the patented/proprietary Hunter process in detail, using my '67 reproduction bolt-ons and new Diamondback radials.- Top
