1962 - 300 Wiring

In reconnecting my wiring under the dash, my homemade tag came off the red wire going to the cigarette lighter. There is a metal loop appx 3-4 in from the end of the red wire connecting to the lighter. The loop appears to connect to the right or left side (in viewing it from the back) of the amp meter. However, in making the connection, many things can happen with only one of them being good. I have a printed drawing, but still a little confused due to the clearity of the printed material. Could use your expert help. Thanks. Lynn

On a 62 the red wire going to the lighter comes off the inside ( lighter side) of the ampmeter. The assembly manual shows this very clearly and I double checked with my car.
