Re: 1962 CARB
Actually, the correct carb for a 62 300 HP powerglide is a 3310S. They were also used on some passenger cars in that year, and are not plentiful, but not as scarce or as desirable as the 3269S. It needs to predate your car, so you need to know about when your car was built. The code stamped on the front will have 3 characters (generally). The first is for running change in the carburetor (A, B, or C), the second (or first, if there are only two characters) is for the month A= January, through M= December (no I), and the last character is the year (either 1 or 2).
Hope that helps.- Top

Re: 1962 CARB
3310S for 300 HP automatics. Under the 3310S will be 1 or 2 letters and a number. First letter is the revision series of the carb (A, B, C). Second letter is the month. Last number is the year. My car was built on December 19, 1961. It has a "BK1" - Rev B, October, 1961.
They're rare. Might cost you $600+. A 3721S, SA, or SB was the service replacement carb. They're a lot cheaper. They're functional equivalents. Look very similar. The ones dated after 1965 will be the cheapest. 3721 was OE on some 1964 and 1965 Corvettes. So anything dated after that was not original on somebody's car. You won't be competing with the numbers matching set.
You can make aftermarket carbs (Holley, Edelbrock, Demon, etc.) work. But you'll create very difficult problems fitting an air cleaner, choke, and a gas line.- Top
