? about my '67 fan shroud with A/C

I have a question about the fan shroud for my '67 SB coupe with factory A/C. My fan shroud is original, but there are 2 or 3 places where there is a cut out on the shroud. I can send photos via email to help anyone answer my question because "cut out" isn't very descriptive. Did the factory cut out small portions of the fan shroud because of the A/C option, or are they just "Bubba modifications"? I'd like to reuse my original fan shroud because the new remanufactured ones just don't have the same fiberglass look.

Any help would be appreciated.

A/C equipped 67's had an auxillary fan shroud, or rather a fan shroud extension . the cut outs you describe are there to facilitate attachement of mthe extension to the fan shroud. Sermersheimer makes the extension. mike

Tony - I would expect an original sb C60 fan shroud to have 6 .14" x 2.00" slotted cut outs around the lower half plus on each side 2 25/64"dia holes and 2 .58" x 1.0" rectangular cut outs just above the upper most slotted cut outs. See UPC C60, SHEET B2.5 in the 1967 Corvette AIM. This modification was to align and attach the "fan ring" to the lower half of the fan shroud. The fan ring has 6 elongated tabs that fit into the slotted cut outs when installed. Sounds like they got the job started on Friday and forgot to complete it on Monday before they shipped the car. FYI, all sb fan shrouds have the 6 locations for the slot cut outs identified with indents but they were not cut out for non-C60 cars. Pete
