A/C Clutches -- what is correct for early '65?

Acquired an early '65 (not Corvette) A-6 compressor; looks unmolested and has a rear head 6555302 with a I_15_4 (Sept 15th 1964) cast date. Also has the clutch type shown at the top of the pic (6 holes rather than 3 rectangles at the inner hub). Top clutch is the type seen in the GM shop manual pics of that era, and also appears in a '63 C60 shot in Noland's Vol2, pg 123.

Question: If the top clutch was the type still being installed by Frigidaire as of mid-September 1964, when did the change to the square type openings begin ?
