    '64 Carb Date Judging

I am aware that the carb was installed in St. Louis and thus could be dated after the engine assembly date. The judging rules functionally state that the carb date can be up to 6 months before the car assembly date, but I have been told that in the real world, the carb date was at least three weeks before the assembly date. Apparently, most experienced judges know this and at the national level, an 8 point deduction would be taken for a carb dated one or two weeks before the car assembly date. True or false?

    Scott -

There would be no reason to take a deduction for the dating situation you describe.
