'75 Rear Compartment Door Trim

I asked a similar question the other day regarding my '71. Now I need to know about the '75 MY. Is it true you must drill out the plastic pegs in the trim piece to remove it & replace with screws? We're trying to replace the carpet on the door.

Jim,

I don't know of any other way to remove the door trim. In my case both my carpet and door trim were beyond salvage, so I now have S/S screws holding the new trim on.

I suppose it would be possible to mix up some epoxy with some black dye and use that to reproduce the original 'pegs'.

I drilled out my pegs and re-installed the trim with carpet tacks. I wasn't sure that I could find screws properly countersunk for a good fit with the trim pieces. The tacks don't look bad, but the size I chose certainly don't look factory. Perhaps a different size would look more correct, or I could put some kind of filler in the holes for a more original look.
