I have a 1970 big block wiht casting date B 70. Assembly date is 7th of July 70. Is it possible, that the heads have a casting date of H 69 and the intake D 70? Should these dates be closer together? I'm not sure if those components are correct fitting togehter or if the engine was mixed togehter?

Re: Dates on engine components
For NCRS purposes, it's my understanding the components should preceed manufacture date by no more than 6 months. With that said, my 68 which had many
of its original parts, the casting dates were all with in a few days of each other for the engine, heads, exhaust manifolds, intake, etc. I think it just depends on what parts your talking about, what was going on back then, and your intentions for the car? The heads and intake dates, likely wouldn't be judged anyway, and as long as each component is with in that 6 month window,(just not after the engine assembly date) you should be fine.
