I am looking for a correct fuel pump for my September 65 built, 66 L79. I have found a guy who says he has one but want to educate myself before buying.
What is the correct Fuel pump for my engine and what are some of the identifying marks on the Fuel pump that I should be looking for?
Your '66 should have an AC 40083 pump on it. If you are not concerned with judging points your local Delco dist. will sell you the above pump for around $27 bucks. It will be perfectly functional, but missing the "AC" logo cast into the top. Probably won't have the part number stamped on it's flange either. The part number will be on a metal tag under one of the cover screws.
If judging points are important, a correct pump is available from several sources, but will be $$$$. Bill
