    C-3, dual snorkel air cleaner

Were the chrome lids different between the 350 and 454 dual snorkel air cleaners for 1970? The 454 crossed flags decal (too high) and curved 390 HP decal (too curved) won't properly fit the lid I have.

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Scott-----

The covers were the same for all 1970-72 dual snorkel air cleaners. The cover was GM #6483843, but it's long-since discontinued. I believe that many 1970 LS-5 used an open element air cleaner.

      Hi Scott.

If you're having trouble finding a chrome air cleaner lid for your "MACHINE", you should check out the early to mid-seventies small block 2BBL cars like, Nova, Camaro, etc. They had C-329 AC filters. They are the exact same lid just not chrome. Use a flat head screw driver to pull the rubber gasket out of the groove and get the lid re-chromed. About $75.

      Hope this helps. Ken.
