All plastics age. Aging is accelerated by heat, uv rays and environmental contaminants. Generally softer, less dense, pliable plastic ages faster than hard, dense, rigid plastics because of their structure. When clear, translucent or light plastic ages, it looses its clarity. This is commonly referred to as yellowing due to the appearance. On dark or Black plastic the discoloration is masked.
