First chapter meet 2006 of the Dutch Chapter

    Hi all,

Yesterday the Dutch Chapter (i/o) had their first meet of 2006 including their first annual members meetings in which the board was selected. The event was organized at Andre Boers Corvette museum. One of the world largest Corvette collections on display. To get an impression of the event have a look at the link provided below.

    greetings,
    Rob.

I never knew there were so many pristine Corvettes in Holland. Thank you for posting! BTW, how did they get there?

            Hi Paul,

These cars are carefully selected and most of them imported from the whole of Europe or from the States. Some were original Dutch delivered cars. E.g. we know at least 2 53 Vette's were originally Dutch delivered.

To give you some inside of the number of C1 - C3 cars known in the Netherlands (any many still hidden in garages by private collectors):

            C1: > 100 cars identified
            C2: > 50 cars identified
C3: Not clear to us but likely at least 350 cars around, likely way over 500 cars

            greetings,
            Rob.

Rob, it surely has been a wonderful kick off day for the Dutch Chapter (in corporation). Andre indeed has a collection that is capable of matching some of the greatest collections in the US. And please note that he has 2 other warehouses with approx 50 corvettes (some as parts cars, others to be restored or for sale in the future).

The good thing about the Netherlands is that in the past a lot of US army men came to the Netherlands on a mission (or were transported to Germany just like Elvis). Obviously, taking their Corvettes with them! On many occasions, when they moved back to the US, selling off the car in the Netherlands.

I will soon post some pictures as well!
