quadrajet rebuild john bauer can anybody recommend a shop person who specializes in rebuilding or restoring a rochester quadrajet carb i am mainly interested in a good performance rebuild not a point big buck concours restore chicago area if possible thanks

re quadrajet rebuild joe lucia i would recommend brad urban's carburetor shop located in rancho cucomonga ca brad died several years ago but as far as i know his company continues in the same tradition they have been rebuilding quadrajets for many many years and wrote the book literally on quadrajet rebuilding they were so popular that at least at one time it was practically impossible to get through to them on the phone i tried once for over two weeks to get a call through and arrange for rebuild of my original carb i finally did and as it turned out it was worth the frustration

Thanks Joe; that's what I wanted to hear. I already spoke with them on the phone and it sounded good. I just thought I would query the discussion board for any other recommendations.

If simple rebuild is what you're after, why not do it yourself or ask your local NCRS chapter members for help? Rebuild kits are available from any local auto parts store....

Now, if you've got serious problems like warped surfaces or leaking fuel bowl, you might want to consider a restoration instead of a rebuild. Personally, I had great service from Jerry Luck who's in St Louis and advertises in Driveline.
