Rick, I believe that the 1955 Chevrolet Passenger Car Shop Manual (there is not a separate manual for Corvette) calls for .016 lash on solid lifter V8 engines for both intake and exhaust. However, I don't have the manual in front of me and I'm depending on my memory for this information. If no one else posts prior to this evening I'll look it up for you and confirm. Regards, Bernie Myers
Should have said, the STANDARD Corvette camshaft was different than the STANDARD pass car mechanical cam. The Corvette standard cam and the Corvette/pass car 225 cam are the same piece.
Rick,
Anyone older than the vehicle in question should not rely on his memory. Bill is correct: Intake .008 and Exhaust .018, hot. I should have waited to post until I could look it up and not have to depend on such an unreliable resource.
Bernie
