no. a 63 FI car had a rochester id tag on the left side of the plenum that contained the serial # of the fi unit and the part # of the unit. that's all. the late 64's and 65's , for the most part, had the vin derivative stamped on the plenum. mike
yer about a year late. my brother dennis sold his 98% frame-off restored silver 435 69 convert. rather than look for 69, just tell everyone you graduated in 57. will keep you in mind if one shows up. how about a 69 small block convert c-60 project car with no engine? way less than 45K. mike
There is a relationship with the serial # of the f.i. unit vs the serial # of your car though. The serial # should be within an approximate range for your car. Brian Futo did a lot of survey work on this and he could give you a more definitive answer. Example you don't want a serial # 1100 7375 unit on a 20000 vin. My ex 63 vin 00660 had 7375 # 1094 on it (units started with 1000 or 1001 number on tag). I'm sure Mike Hanson and others could add their 2 cents worth.
