    69 435hp exhaust system

Before I bought the car, 28 years ago, someone put headers on it. I'm in the process of restoring the car to stock. I've found the repro manifolds but I'm not sure which exhaust system to use. I might want the car judged one day so I want the best choice. Any opinions out there? Thanks
I have bought all the ncrs manuels last week but they aren't here yet..Darn it!

    Re: 69 435hp exhaust system

    George-----

ALL 1969 exhaust systems, regardless of engine option, were 2". It was the only year that a 2" exhaust system was used on a big block, so the forward pipes are unique to the 1969 with big block application.

There is NO system on the market today that is configured exactly like the original systems in all respects. "About as close as you can get systems" are available from Allen's Corvette Exhaust Systems. The closest you can get to original finish is plain carbon steel, but these will rust immediately. The best compromise is probably aluminized, as far as judging is concerned.
