    Seat Tracks

Are the seat tracks for a 70 - 74 Corvette the same? I am looking for a replacement track for my 73 Corvette and am wondering what to get.

Should be the same. I think there was achange in 75 to accomodate the cat converter.

Try Ecklers, Riks or Corvette America.

        Hi Roger

Go to 60scorvetteseats.com They have seat tracks and should be able to help you out. I just bought them for my 62 corvette.

          Roger----

No, 1970-74 seat tracks are not all the same. The 1968-71 are the same. 72-74 are the same but different than 68-71. I don't think that they are a lot different, but I can't tell you exactly what the differences are.

            Roger,
Compare prices then look on Ebay. I have seen some of these go for fairly cheep prices. Even pretty rough tracks will clean up well. Mine were rusted solid. I got them sand blasted by someone localy. They have a commercial set up, a bit more powerful than your typical home set up. When I got them back the tracks looked great and moved very nicely. I then sprayed them with dionizer rust stopper, can find this at Murrays, and then painted them. The tracks now look almost like new and work great.

              Re: Seat Tracks

The difference is the orientation of the rear mounting bracket that is riveted to the seat track. The 68-71 seat track has the bracket (which is shaped sort of like a triangle with the top point cut off) pointed toward the rear. The 72-74 seat track has the rear bracket pointed toward the front. This changes the location of the rear mounting holes that attach the seat track to the body.

I don't know if they will interchange, and my dates may be off somewhat.

Roger, what exactly do you need, I may be able to help.

                Ed------

Thanks for confirming that. That's exactly what I thought the difference was, but I was not sure enough to say so. I thought that the basic tracks were the same but the rivetted-on mounting brackets were different.
