    Driveline & renewals

Just received my notice for dues/pitch to renew. One paragraph was touting the 'Driveline' as 3x's the size of previous issues. I sent in my dues, albeit with a note saying the 'Driveline' was also 3x's as slow in arriving, was thus worthless as a source for parts, and that we need an electronic parts ad site.
The check will go in their account and the note in the trash, but I vented.

You are right about the disposition of the check and your note. Wouldn't want to move into the 21st Century - at least not until it has been thoroughly discussed and all the technical hurdles have been fully investigated and resolved. "Creating the wheel" takes time - remember, no one else has ever done such a thing.

Please Don don't cut them any slack. Electronic posting of ads, services, events and cars for sale is one thing, getting our Driveline to us in a timely manner is another. They all give all the appearances of an uncaring group to their NCRS member constituents. I've observed numerous members posting their displeasure at their lack of performance relevant to the delivery of the Driveline. Their approach is one of the ostrich....stick your head in the sand and the problem will go away. Truth is efficiency in the delivery of the Driveline borders on embarassingly pitiful. Mike #28614

Mike 28614 : " they give all the appearances of an uncaring group etc " . that is BS. the membership guys have never impressed me as being uncaring. Blame the united states postal sevice for the inconsistent delivery dates of the Driveline. BTW,I'm for electronic Drivelines.Regards, mike

Old school condoning of poor performance Mike. If the "membership guys" are a caring group then why has this not been acknowledged and then resolved? Mike #28614

This issue has been beat to death for many years. The National Board has many reasons (economics, # of on line participants, etc). You can check the archives for more details. If you feel strongly about it, I suggest you contact your Regional Representative (listed in the front of the Restorer) or attend a National Board Meeting. I believe the next one will be after the 2006 Convention. Don H.

FYI. The next NCRS Board of Directors meeting is March 25 at San Antonio.

I heard there may be some great Regional possibilities for 2008 being discussed.

I would have no personal knowledge of that, of course.
