Did others notice the MSN piece from Allstate Insurance a couple of days ago in which they displayed a chart showing how insurance premiums were determined for various makes/models based on risk and cost ratings?
It was interesting to note that for Safety and Repair (costs), the Corvette coupe was rated "A" (much lower than normal premium) in both categories, whereas the convertible got a "B" in one and "A" in the other, and both models were assigned a 40% overall discount.
Only one Porsche got similar "A" + "A" and 40% ratings, and that was the Cayenne. Only one 500-series Mercedes model equalled the rating of the Corvette. Aside from the Corvette's good rating, I was pleased to see that my Buick Rendezvous also earned the top "A" + "A" + 40% rating; although the chart was stated not to apply in Canada.
