    Re: GM#

Hi, the number on my '72 ends in 718418, which is located on the bottom side of the push button handle. The body of the handle has an "R" stamped on it, an "F" (for Flint?), and a carriage picture denoting body by Fisher.
I believe this is an original piece.

      Stefan-----

I can't tell you what number is actually on the door handles, themselves. There may not even be a part number for the complete assembly on them. Any part numbers you find could be the part numbers for the specific component you're looking at of the door handle. Some of the same components may have been used for both the early and later design, so part numbers for components might not be all that definitive in ID'ing a handle.

Anyway, the GM part numbers for the early 1968 handles were GM #3918541, left, and 3918542, right. Later, they became GM #3932833, left, and GM #3932834, right.

Be aware, though, it is VERY possible that the "early" design handles were NEVER installed on a 1968 Corvette. If they were, at all, it would be only for a VERY early car.
