Any guesses as to why the paper happens to be available?

      Was wondering same -- wasn't 11K high in '81

.. for a 390hp '67 ? If it was real nice, the paperwork would have been closely associated with the overall value of the car. Maybe the car was stolen, and this is all that's left.

Since prices varied across the country long ago, you'd have to know NY prices. However, in '84 in Connecticut, I looked a a few midyear convertibles that were in the $6000-$7000 range and they were about average in price.

Now in one of those terrible newspaper interviews in 1976, a friend told a reporter doing a story on a club show in downtown Alton, IL that '63 coupes were very rare and commonly selling for $10,000.

Of course, he just happened to own one.

In '76, I remember selling a '67 BB coupe for $3200 needing paint. A Daytona blue '63 for sale for $4500 in great shape. A silver '65 convertible for $4000. Looking at a black '65 convertible for $3200, had FI emblems but 4 bbl on it.

------In 1976 I happily agreed to pay $20,000 for a certain green/tan leather 65 fuelie roadster from the original owner. Of course, the mileage was sort of low (1500 orig). How I would like to duplicate that feat today!!!
------On the other side of the coin, in 1971 I paid $1500 for a gorgeous original blue on blue fuelie loaded with options including knock-offs. It was missing the fuel-unit however. I sold it for $1900 and actually thought I did well!!!........Bill S
