    1969 big block id

Question, I am going to look at a 69 convertible this week that is supposed to be a big block car with the wrong motor. What would be some things to tell big block from small block car? Rear end etc. Thank you.

I would look at some the obvious:

    Rear end codes.
Half shafts/u-joints (steel caps Vs "U" Bolts).
    Rear Stablizer.
    Front Sway bar size.

    Regards,

        Oil pressure gauges:

        327 300 = 60
        327 350 = 60

        427 390 = 60
        427 430 = 80
        427 435 = 80

                sorry, you're thinking mid-years

For 1969, all the oil pressure gauges are the same. Also, the small blocks had a 3/4" front and no rear bar and all big blocks had a 15/16" front and a 9/16" rear bar.
