    C2 Blinker Handle Replacement

A buddy was helping me with carpet install on my 65 and my turn signal handle was broken in the process. Do I need to have a special tool to remove the upper portion of the wheel/column to access the screw that holds the turn signal handle on, or can I get access it some other way to remove/replace it?

    Thanks for the help!

You will have to remove the steering hub to access and replace the turn signal lever. A hub puller will be required. These can be purchased for a relatively modest amount or they can be rented. They are pretty much a "generic" piece and no Corvette-specific tool is required.

Mark, a word of caution. Make sure the hub puller you use has bolts with the correct thread to match those in the steering wheel hub. Mine was buggered up by Bubba somewhere along the line.
      Best regards,

        Charlie-----

This is one of the reasons that I recommend buying a new steering hub puller. A lot of the "rental" or "loaner" tools have been abused. Very often, the threads on the puller bolts are damaged. The steering hub is zinc-die-cast ("pot metal") and the puller bolts are steel. Thread damaged bolts into zinc-diecast threaded holes and you get zinc diecast damaged holes. You want the puller bolts to be not only the proper size, but you want the threads to be PERFECT.
