    67 P/W relay location?? Still can't find

Help! The A31 sheets from the AIM are so vague that I still can't figure out where the power window relay is supposed to go. The circuit-breaker is a no-brainer, but still can't figure out the relay (which is a 67-only item). Noland Adams' book says is goes on the left hand hinge pillar brace (p. 401) but the spacing of the holes under there don't match up to the spacing on the relay. Can anyone with a 67 power window car help me out? thank you!!

I have a 67 P. Window vette, but I don't know where the "relay" goes. The Circuit Breaker is readilly visible. I'll double check on my car to see if I can be of any help.

      Brandon,

My 67 has the relay mounted above the P/W circuit breaker.

thanks Steve! It's somewhere very close to the circuit breaker, but I'm just not sure where.

Thanks Don. There is a large oval hole above the circuit breaker. Where exactly is the relay mounted in relation to this? I'm looking for the mounting holes, but can't find any.

Brandon - I was hoping to get you a picture, but that's isn't happening. It's a jungle up there.

From what I can tell the 990 P/W relay must have been installed prior to putting the guage cluster in. Noland's book figure is right out of the '67 AIM.

So here goes from what I can see on my car -

            1. the orientation of the 990 relay is verticle with the cover toward the rear of the car as shown in Noland's figure,
            2. the 2 holes for the screws to hold the relay are located on a line running straight up from the back edge of the oval cutout in the hinge pillar brace. Bottom hole is about 1/2" up on that line and the upper hole should be 1-1/8" up on the line above the bottom hole.

            Good luck, Pete

              Thank you Pete!

I finally found the mounting holes- right where you said. I had buried them under some jute insulation coming off the firewall that was glued down pretty well. I wanted to get the relay installed before putting the dash back in next week because things are very tight under there. Thanks again.
