Where was the 1959 engine stamped (Flint?) and were all the numbers and letters stamped at the same time? Thanks, Jimmy

Re: C1 - 1959 Engine
This is a different Mike weighing in--the answer to your question is yes, but not often. Especially the same day. I have a 62 fuelie that I've had since the mid-70's--cast on Nov. 21, assembled on Nov. 22.
I've even seen one block that was stamped the day before it was cast. Obviously a mess-up at one or the other plants, either the foundry or the engine plant, where someone had the wrong date in the fixture, but that kind of stuff did happen.
For judging purposes, the same day will certainly raise eyebrows.- Top

I might add...
...There were times during part of the C1 run where the second alpha character was added by hand and alignment with the first part of the stamping is not a given... I would not necessarily be critical of a CS stamp, for example, where the S did not align perfectly with the other characters.- Top
