    Tank Sticker Assembly Line Revisions

I've seen quite a few tank stickers, (in good condition) and generally the only handwriting I see is on the right side with the job number. However, I THINK mine seems to be somewhat unusual. (Of course, it HAS to be mine) On the right side, the '67 sticker calls for red stripe tires, but this option has a pencil line running through it and is replaced with WSW (white side walls). I guess they didn't have any red stripes that day and used what they had available. I don't particularly care for white side walls, but how would the NCRS judges view this assembly line revision, because that's what are on the car now.

Also on the bottom right hand corner is written RN 1593, and underneath that looks like 3 initials of someones name. (DRB) I haven't the faintest clue what this means. Has anyone out there seen this before? Thanks.

Patric, the NCRS doesn't care what your tank sticker says. We don't look at or judge them. The other judging group doesn't either, but they do look at window stickers. Bob

      I'll take a stab

I'm no tank sticker expert, but how about RN = revision notice, and this could have been prompted by either a last minute order change by the dealer or an engineering approval to replace redlines with whitewalls if the line ran out of the former. I really wanna hear what the judges have to say on this one.

        Patrick and Duke,

Bob is correct. NCRS does not look at the tank sticker, unless the owner brings it to the judges as proof of some unusual feature. So, unless Patrick brings the paper to the ball game the judges say nothing.

        Sorry Duke.

          So how do judges...

determine if an option was originaly installed at the plant or added later on?

            Re: So how do judges...

Duke, The car is judged as presented on the judging field. If somebody wants to cheat or misrepresent his car to the judges, so be it. On many additions the judges have learned, through the years, how to tell. In short, we TRUST you! Hard to believe, huh. " The doubt goes to the OWNER".

Re: Tank Sticker Assembly Line Revisions

I have a copy of 67 about # 500. Three interesting things on it. 1. Tele column is lined through as apparently they were out of stock or were not avaliable that early. 2. It lists 425 hp not 435 - this one puzzles me somewhat. 3. "Texas State Fair" delivery listed on the tank sticker - go figure?? no dealer etc. Odd combination of non normalities.

                  Re: Tx. State Fair Car!

Jim, The TX STATE FAIR reference; every year the Fair has a big auto show. Your car was probably one of the GM display cars! Neet deal. Very rare! There's always a group of new Covettes shown.
