The birthday calendar I normally go to (on the Wisconsin NCRS board) is not functioning on my end. Was wondering if anyone could take a good guess at 63 Vin #03678 Trim tag says C3 (3rd week of November 62 I believe). I'd like to narrow it down further as I am looking at a few dated parts that are very close.
With the departure of the Wisconson website, it was not possible for a time there there was no online birthday calculator for C1 and C2 Corvettes. Now with the C1 and C2 registry sites, there are calculators for all C1 and C2 years. They can be found at:
Well after I responded I double checked the day in the "Birthday Book" and it turns out July 27th was a Saturday!! So I gues we should be careful... Eric
My comment was designed to address the default response from the date calculator all 63's come back as 37s. mine is 30867S120667. my other 30837S112521 is a SWC. My license plates read "SPLIT" and "NOSPLIT" WHat numer is yours? Do you have the later dash/steeringwheel bezel? Eric
The tool and the birthday book both use dates that are known production dates. Therefore, it may or may not be accurate for your car. Also, you may never know. I believe the C2 Registry uses the same dates, except where there is proof positive that a car was built on a certain date then the C2 Registry is tuned and may be a bit better.
CUTE PLATES!! For many years, my plate was "NOS 63". Several years ago, when I pulled it out of storage and re-registered it, my lovely wife stood in line at the DMV for me (bless her!). She brought home "63J Z06" - I swear, luck of the draw. Now if only I had a Z06 to back it up.
My VIN is 30837S121102.
And, no, I have a normal '63 dash. They must have been running out the few remaining '63 dashes along with some new '64 dashes toward the end. I can't remember the stamped date on the back, but it is the original.
