I am installing an original convertible frame and brackets into a 62 hardtop only car and encountering a couple of problems that I am sure have been dealt with before. Is there any modification to the body panel that houses the door lock striker? It would appear to me that a slot needs to be made on the back side, sort of a rib that is molded into the door pillar post to allow clearance for one of the brackets and if so is there any reference to how big? Also the holes that mount the pie plates are filled from the factory but the support plates are there, is this common? Thanks for the help.
