Re: 78 pace car decals/front spoiler

John...this intrigues me that the factory would have tucked that spoiler in the back for shipping and left it as a dealer installation. Of course by the later 70's AIMs had checklists for just about everything including a "miscellaneous shipping list"

Checking the 79 AIM (with the thought that if begun in 78...it would have carried over into 79 or integrated into the 79 AIM), there is no reference to the air dam. We do have reference to antenna mast, owner's manual, plastic envelope, t-top bags, wheel trim units, caps for the YJ8 wheels (aluminum), instructions for same, and the license plate attachment.

So how to interpret this data?

John, maybe a better use for the loader would have been to load the Vegas into a crusher.

Dickie had to add something to boost his point score into that top 25! But that wasn't a bad suggestion...except those late model C3s without the tile/tele wouldn't have a steering wheel as backup!

Cosworth. There is where the mistake was. Spend a Corvette price on a Vega.

The best part was that running side by side, a friend's '75 Cosworth would take my '75 GT by a car length on start, gain another about 40 mph, and drop back to one one length around 70-75. Great deal for an additional $3000.

After the warranty ran out, I put on a Blackjack header, ran a 2-1/2 inch exhaust as straight as possible to a Corvair muffler, and rejetted the Holley 2 bbl with Holley jets that you supposedly couldn't get.

            The Cosworth never won again.

I knew another guy who did let his Cosworth do what it was intended - he put on sidedraft Webers. That puppy would run.

Of course, with a Corvette only having 165 hp at the time, I guess Chevy couldn't let a Cosworth or anything else look too good.

I was the production launch manager for the Cosworth. Twice.
