Brake line fittings, rear 65 convertable

    Hello,

I am replacing the trailing arms on my 1965 Corvette. The brake line junctions use metal clips to hold the fitting into the welded support. Are these clips, a black finish, or a plated finish or raw metal , and are any of them a wire clip rather then a stamped metal "U" type clip. See clip part # 34 on page E137 or part 5 on page E138 of the AIM.

Jack, stamped steel, plated black. Wire "mickey mouse ears" did not come out until 67

      Ken------

I believe that the metal, "u-shaped" spring clips were always used for the brake line attachment. The "mickey mouse" wire clips were used for the parking brake cable attachment.
