What if... No PCV?

I recently purchased a '65 w/ 327. As purchased, this car has an aftermarket intake on it (no oil tube or PCV provision) with corvette valve covers (again, no PCV provision). It does have the vent tube in the back of the block. What happens if you don't have a PCV but have the vent tube?

I'm curious on impact. Thanks!

Depending on HP/Carb, '65 did not use a PCV Valve system, the '65 system is more correctly described as a controlled vacuum leak. If no crancase vent system at all, crankcase pressure will get out via the weakest link, rings, valve cover gaskets, pan gaskets, seals, in general with no crancase vent you will have quite a mess. If the original pipe from the rear of the block to the air cleaner is in place, that will become the vent, and the carb and engine will see a lot of oil vapor.

Pour it on that aftermarket intake and let it soak in. They usually leak around the bolts anyway and this one surely will.
