Re: P case casting dates
Sounds like you've got a winner Jeffrey. At the present time, posi cases are not judged in NCRS. If they were, only skinny, slippery people would be allowed to judge. Fat people like me would need mirror extentions, powerful flashlights, and telescopic sighting devices. However, there are many slippery, skinny judges in NCRS who could probably wiggle underneath the car, especially if it were judged on a grass field in the rain. (like Lake Placid)
The six month thing is arbitrary. A feeling for time lags is developed over a period of time in judging many cars. For example a 935 block cast in December of 1960 and assembled six months later would not be "typical of factory production" and therefore suspect. I'm not saying it would be impossible, but just atypical. I've got a 1962 4-Star Bowtie Candidate that still has it's original shock absorbers, untouched, and they have 1960 dates with the correct part numbers!
The "tightness" of your casting date and the assembly date/usage code is typical of factory production in my opinion.
Enjkoy the 61. Drive it!
