The original window sticker and bill of sale and conversation with the first owner of 25 years document my 64 coupe as a non radio car. However, the first owner, who had a relationship with the Delco factory in Kokomo, Indiana, had a radio installed by the factory engineering group. An interim owner had the radio removed, dash covered, antenna removed and car painted. When I bought the car it had a distributor condensor, which I removed, and an antenna ground strap still in place. After removing the antenna ground this weekend there remains a "junction" bridge strap which is riveted to the cabin bulkhead. The frame ground strap and the antenna ground strap were connected there by a screw and clip nut.
My question is this...would the riveted strap have been on all cars regardless due to body assemply prior to knowing the final radio configuration. I find it hard to believe the Delco engineers installed this strap and I'm confident the car is a non radio car.
