C1 vs. C2 Outside Mirror date codes

Please note e-bay mirror (8044089106 item number) GM part 3840784

It's dated 6-DMI-9. I am wondering if that mean 1959 in this case, or if it could be used on a 1959 Corvette, or if it was made in 1969 for service.

    I'm guessing the latter.
    Thanks

Re: C1 vs. C2 Outside Mirror date codes

Note: I have 67 judging manual, but not one for 1960.

My question above, in other words, is what is the format of the date code on the older (1959-1960) outside mirrors, if they have date codes?

    Thanks

Tom - The photo of the mirror date code is 3-DCAR-9 so I don't think it's a DMI mirror. It's a later production then early 1967 as the mirror body has no BowTie on the back and it also looks like the mirror glass is glued in because I don't see the retaining ring around the glass which was used to hold the mirror glass in on "orignal' mid year mirrors. Tom--
That mirror looks like the generic GM replacement over the counter mirror sold for years to supposedly fit 53-62 as well as midyears. It is not close to the Y-50 that is correct 53-62.
I recently found a DMI-dated Y-50 NOS--how that happened, I'm not sure. Incidentally, DMI stands for Donelly Mirror Industries, from what I understand. They and AJAX were the vendors for the chrome bumper C3 cars.

AJAX (AX logo) mirrors were also used on C2s. Both my 66 and 67 have AX mirrors. Pete
