    Seats 53 to 55 guys

Notice any thing different about them and why I had a hit of 4 points out of 40

and 1 hit on door panels out of 10

    Well...

These are Al Knock seats, over the original seat foam. The door panel seen is actually the original on the car.

      Re: Well...

I like your Corvette vary much , your seat back cushion fits as the original should to the soft top lid which many restored Corvettes don't , "They" have repro seat assy. Or worn down foam when they have the covers installed having a gap so large you could run your arm pass it. And your bottom area "center"is not worn , beat down like NCRS thinks it should be.

        The seats are "kinda" original...

The RH seat sits on the floor, and the bottm face frame was pretty rotten in places. Apparently it only takes a sudden rain squall once every 5 years or so to rot out the frame. The RH springs were rotten, too. Using the LH side as a model, and with a bag of repro seat springs, I sewed together linen and burlap bags, and created a new lower spring set for the RH side, along with forming and welding a new seat bottom frame. The I replaced the linen and burlap on the original LH spring set. The original foam was perfect, so I sent back the repro foam, which I had already sculpted from the rough-cut "repro" to perfectly smooth with a high speed hand grinder, so somebody got a GOOD deal. I did the LH seat exactly as original, then matched the RH seat to it, so tha appearance of the center pleats matches photos of new cars in Noland's book.

Well you did a correct job by looking, like I said few back cushions restored seats fit right "GAP" as you must notice seeing other Corvettes

The seam between the center rolled and the smooth outer section does not had a bead seperating the two sections? 4 points, one for each seat? Door panels look OK may be stiching?

You are just to good!! But correct I dont like the bead it wears going in and out , what you cant see or smell is the German Leather used through out on every piece and no judge caught it, they must have had a bad cold that day.And people worry about over spray . Ha!
Bob! dont tell any one, our Secret OK?

Roy, The lack of bead did not jump out at me, but that French seam sure drew it to my attention. It is hard to believe that judge missed it. It was your luck day!
