I think their is a fundemental difference between reproduction parts and the fake paperwork. The fake documents are far more likely to be used to fraudunlently pass clones off as originals. There aren't many reproduction parts that can accomplishment that. There are no reproduction dated coded blocks, stamp pads, trans cases, diff cases, etc. JMHO

there are repro 3x2 intakes , blocks to come soon!

The rumor I heard is that one of the big aftermarket racing engine block companies (can you say D__RT or W__RLD) actually owns the rights to reproduce the original engine blocks. DUH! they obviously have the casting and machining capabilities! From what I heard, they plan to start with the beloved 1967 427 blocks and branch out from there.

what if the orignal tank sticker was missing or distroyed should not the owner be allowed to use a repoduction one like other reproduction parts on the car?

                Clem,

I think you have a valid point. However, if this was REALLY about restoration, then there would not be any need to "age" the tank sticker. Corvettes were not originally delivered with "aged" tank stickers. The only reason to make a tank sticker appear 40 years old, would be to defraud a future buyer. No one, least of all the seller, really believes that these "aged" tank stickers will be used just as a novelty. If you really wanted a restoration tank sticker, then you would want it to appear new.

None of this would even be an issue, if there were GM VIN records like the GTOs. It's a real shame for the hobby that those records were not preserved.

Kauffman Corvette in Mansfield Ohio is or will be sell repo 351 427 blocks very soon. I have seen the molds and the first block myself. They are also doing the tri-power intakes and selling them to the vendors. Thanks Larry

now if they would just cast thicker walls

If they were to cast the cylinder walls thicker like the bowtie blocks, then the racers could even bore and stroke them to 572 (4.560 x 4.375) and still run them in the FAST class!

Holy cow Batman!!! Better hang on.

You can get the bore a bit bigger than that..... I have a 1000 h.p (no nitrous) 582 CID built out of a low deck bowtie block.
