C2:67 Flagstaff end of April, carry chains?

I haven't had chains on my 67 since the 80's when I was doing skiing. I had had the rear end hiked up slightly for them. The hike is now gone with new suspension, and I'm wondering about chains or cable chains for driving to Flagstaff for the last weekend in April this year. I have new Coker radials on the car.

Any advice out there, on local conditions and the type of chains, if necessary.

Jerry, I go to Phoenix thur Flagstaff at least 4 or 5 times each year. I have seen snow there at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. I keep a set of the strap chains with me all the time. They are real good about plowing there. Dale

What's the rules in Arizona on snow tires?

      Dale,

I have P205/75R15 M&S Coker radials. Do they qualify as snow tires in AZ?

Jerry; If the M&S is mud and snow i would think so. The chances of hitting snow are small but possible,. D/

          Flagstaff Circa 1949

Arizona DOT recommends carrying chains. Here's their public information PDF:

Since Flagstaff has some altitude, it pays to check the local forecast prior to your trip.

Of course, it COULD all melt by April 30....
