I needed to see it to believe it. Nothing I have seen before. On the trim tag it says 926a. I have looked all over and not a color assigned to 926a. What is this? The car was around 3600 production that year, according to the Vin tag. Help....Thanks Mark.

Re: 1963 trimtag code says 926a?
Hi Mark,
If this trim tag is indeed an original, it is obviously a misprint.
The only code for 1963 that begins with 92 is for Riverside Red. There are 2 colors (Daytona Blue and White) thats code end in a 6.
Is this car a two tone Z-06 vert?

Re: 1963 trimtag code says 926a?
Hi Syd. This car is a mystery to me. It is a vert. The car is black with a red Interior. It appears to of been a fuel injected car. The rad support has the correct holes and someone covered over where the emblems on sides are located(why don't ask me). On the drivers side wheel well, It looks to have the correct holes (for air cleaner). However the injection unit long gone. Could someone just paint this car any color and call it a day? Is this misprint a detraction from the cars value? Obviously the big deal is the fuel injection. I don't have a clue what to say. Any and all comments welcomed.I can't document the car as true FI or not.For that matter the color. Thanks Syd.- Top

Re: 1963 trimtag code says 926a?
Mark,
Wish that I could help further. Perhaps if you post a pic of the trim tag one of the experts will chime in. Does the tag verify a red vinyl interior for a vert?
If you tell me the serial number here or by email I will check if I have the car recorded previously on my '63 list.
Good luck!
