So what have I got ? As I understand the coding, for the 1965 model year, "E" (upper right) = month of May. And "E" (lower left) = calendar year 1965. Yet the interior headliner is the padded vinyl style of 1966 model hardtops. In a RESTORER article by John Smart, Spring 1993, the thinking then was that the date codes switched places around July 1965, with the month lower-left and the year upper-right, and remained so through 1967. Has this been validated ? It's on a late 65 car, but the top is not the original.
