All the restoration rhetoric aside, a simple question.

What does the LEGAL DESCRIPTION of a car involve?

Surely the hoses, clamps, seat covers, fasteners, and all the other restoration PARTS do NOT.

What does define the LEGAL DESCRIPTION is precisely the point.

ANYTHING with a VIN, TRIM, Warranty data, and original factory paperwork defining AUTHENTIC FACTORY PRODUCTION is SACRED.

Just like currency... In God We Trust... anything less, as described in the original post, belongs on Uranus.

Ask how reproduction currency finds its way into the monetary system. Are you OK with that? Is it OK as long as it satisfies your intended novelty or display purpose? Ever get stuck with bogus currency?

never get stuck with "bogus currency",that is why god made dark bar rooms. if you turn it in the goverment does not give you a rebate.

NCRS membership was at one time of the opinion that "ANYTHING with a VIN, TRIM, Warranty data, and original factory paperwork defining AUTHENTIC FACTORY PRODUCTION is SACRED." I still feel that way and do not accept any "restoration" of these items. It all started with engine pads and trim, VIN plates. Now it going to progress to castings. Maybe time to get more involved with street rods...........where they don't try to fake stuff.
