    RidRust

Has anyone tried the new product called ridrust to clean rusted components? Interesting stuff and the link below has some pretty incredible before/after photos but I'd like to hear from those that have actually used it. Almost sounds too good to be true but if it does what they claim it does, I'll buy a gallon.

I notice from the pictures that it did not appear to clean the rust on the exhaust pipes. They were wet with the fluid. ?? Dale

Michael, I live a few miles from there and need to go to Hackettstown on Wednesday. I'll see if I can find the place and see what they got.

        Michael:
I just ordered a gallon of this from Rid-Rust and used it for the first time this week on a small but seriously rusted part. I had been using phosphoric acid until now but decided to try this after a recommendation on this board. I let the part soak overnight in the solution as I had done with the acid. It removed all the rust and after a little wire wheeling it looked as if it had been made yesterday. I don't have a lot of experience yet with the product to really give an endorsement but I thought this might help.

          Michael,

I've been using it for the past few months on a '65 that I'm restoring and it works GREAT!!! I've cleaned both the front and rear sway bars, transmission/drive shaft yoke, half shaft u-joint caps, parking brake cables, etc. You must keep the part submerged in the stuff to make it work at it's best. I usually let it set in the solution for a few hours, then use a soft stainless steel brush to help remove the rust then place it back in the solution. Usually take a day to remove the rust, depending on how bad it is. I just recently bought another 5 gallons. I highly recommend it. Send me your email address and I'll send you some pictures of the parts I've cleaned with it.
