    82 corvette

I'm looking at buying an 82 Collector Edition Coupe 2D, 18,000 miles, 263 engine bumper was replaced and pin striping does not match. They want $18,500--is this in the ball park or to high. Thanks for any help.

Whats a 283 engine bumper? On 82 collector cars the mileage and condition is what counts. A perfect low miles car (less than 2k mi.) can cost 20-25k$. The pin stripe is a costly item to replace, as well as the decals. $18,000 is a pretty high price un less the car is VERY nice. I bought one last year for 11k, had 30,000 miles and was clean. Sold it for $11.5 this year. Bob

I own an 82CE. I purchased it for $16,500 a year and 1/2 ago. It had 21,000 mi, new paint, the rest original. I just purchased a decal kit for $1400.00 and it still has to be applied. It sounds like the car your interested in is a little high in price especially if the decals are in bad shape. You might want to negotiate the price, on the decals alone your looking at close to $2000.00.
