    70 forward lamp harness ground

I have just finished installing a new forward lamp harness, and a new core support. I would like to know if anyone has detailed information as to where the ground terminal is to be attached? The wire exits the harness just forward of the core support, and is about 6" long, (not the horn ground wire). The AIM shows it to be attached to the core support, though the exact location to drill and attach it is not clear. Sad to say, though I have retained about every original nut, bolt, and parts to this restoration, the rusted core support bit the dust about 8 years ago. Any help, or photo would be appreciated. The length of the ground wire limits your locii for drilling and attaching to the radiator core support. I don't think factory assy folks were very 'precise' in terms where they actually drilled and mounted the ground lug...

Lawrence I just took a quick look at my original owner 70 for your mentioned ground wire connection coming out of the new forward lamp harness. I have factory air and the condensor covers much of the radiator core support. I did see a ground wire coming out of my original forward lamp harness that is secured the the steel front surround panel support. The location of attachment of my ground wire is just to the right of the drivers side horn brace attachment location. The ground wire is secured 3/8 inch bolt/screw that has a star type washer also used.

I believe that the ground wire you are referring to is located near the green horn wires; is this correct? That ground wire is bolted to the headlight support (the metal piece that is bonded to the foward portion of the top surround), not the radiator support. This hole is pre drilled in the headlight suport, and is located almost in the center. I think a plastic wire loom is also bolted (hex head screw) to this hole. G.

Ok I'll take a stab at the local. Mine is on the driver side, front of the rad support. I want to say its not quite mid way down the support. I had 2 original forward harnesses and the ground wire is roughly in the same location in the harness.

The ground at the center of the headlight support is not the one I'm referring to.

Thank you for all your input on this issue. The ground lead I'm dealing with is not the horn ground. I already have secured that lead to the header brace in location of the horns. The ground in question terminates directly in front of the core support, after it passes through it, (forward of the support). The car does have A/C if that matters. Thanks again, Lawrence Berte.

Okay, sorry about my horn ground post earlier. The ground you are referring to is attached to the left front of the radiator support apx. 3.5 inches above the lower rad. support mounting bolt. I think I can get a photo of this if you send me your e address. G.

Good work George, I looked again at my 70 having to move the fiberglass bug screen and have a ground at the same location between the side tubes of the air conditioning condenser.
