Pulling engine and trans, info needed

I have a 67 roadster 350hp, M20, w/ a/c. We about to start pulling the engine and trans so I can detail the engine bay and correct any problems. Any suggestions of what should be done while the engine and trans are out. We're going to do the main seals, timing chain, water pump (A. Gould?). I've contacted Pirkle about the correct alternator and starter. What about:
    1. A correct fuel pump.
    2. I have an original master cylinder and steering box who would be the choice for rebuilding it.
    3. I'd also like to rebuild the wiper motor, washer pump, headlight motors any suggestions.
    4. What's involved with making the a/c compressor look new, it works just needs refinishing.
    5. What would be the best clutch to install.
    6. The radiator is wrong who would have the correct unit. Also my fan is 6 blades is that correct for a/c?
    7. Is there a better or recommended timing chain?
    8. Battery master switch and best location for it?
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Terry,

Get the 67 Judging manual from this site, it's a great start.

American Armeture or Chicago corvette can rebuild your wiper motor, alternator, and I would suggest having the carburator gone through and possibly
replated since you are going this far.

Quanta Products has radiators, don't know if they have the "correct" unit for your car?

The battery disconects I use, connect right to the battery post then the cable connects to it.

I believe Chicago Corvette can do the steering box and master cylinder as well.

You might pick up a Hemmings and subscribe to "Drive Line" magazine, there are many Corvette specialists who advertise these services including the A/C restoration in these publications.

Ebay is another good source for some items, the correct Fuel Pumps can be found on Ebay.

    Good Luck,

    Steve

      Terry,

Be careful....a lot of complete, body-off restorations start out the way you're heading(I know, that's how it happened to me). Sounds like you have a definate, limited plan on what you're going to restore....for now.

I wouldn't get real excited about sending ANYTHING to Chicago Corvette for rebuild. If you're an NCRS member, you already get the "Driveline".

Without going into a list of all the vendors, I would suggest that you search the archives for what most consider the best vendors of the parts and services you require. You made a good start with Pirkle for the electrical.
