Radiator Core Support for 1970 - help

I've got a 1970 L46 4 spd, No A/C. copper/brass radiator. I ordered a new radiator core support from Corvette Central. I noticed on the support a sticker that said it was for A/C. I called them and they didn't convince me I have the right one. The only other one they sell says it's for an aluminum radiator, which I do not have.

My question is: Is there a difference in core supports for AC and non-AC equipped cars for 1970?

The obvious thing to do would be to see if it fits, but I'm about one month away from removing my motor, etc, so I won't know for a month, if this fits or not. Lesson learned - don't buy parts too early.

    Thanks - Mark

Re: Radiator Core Support for 1970 - help

The large brass radiator was used on SB cars in '70 when they were shipped in a higher than base engine heat configuration. This includes the addition of A/C, or automatic trans, or L46 vs. base... Only the very base engine (w/o A/C or A/T) came with the small Harrison aluminum radiator.

So, this suggests C-Central has 'tagged' the rad core support for A/C and simplified the fact it was also used on A/T or upgraded L46 engine applications...
