For anyone interested, Corvette Central will supply original style, carbon steel systems. (same price as aluminized)

I think for any system they normally do in the aluminized. They said they need a couple of weeks notice.

Realize that while you are getting carbon steel pipes, they are NOT shaped and bent "exactly" like the ones originally installed on your car. So, you will gain a couple of points by not having aluminized pipes but may still lose for the shape of the pipes themselves.

Just trying to inform...

FYI, I'd use something like PreLube 6 on them to keep them from rusting.

There is a vendor that is working on a limited number of pipes. He claims to have the pipes done, but his mufflers will not have the "W" as original. I do not know what time frame he is working with.

I'm confused, I thought the standard undercar exhaust on mid-years was two pieces. The second being welded to the muffler.

I count the down pipe from the exhaust as one, then from factory, the second is the pipe with muffler attached. 3 pieces would be the separate muffler.

Dick, my original factory muffler has only the A for Arvin are we sure that all mufflers from the factory had GM and parts numbers on them? or W?

Arvin was another OEM supplier. Vendor mufflers will not have any logo
