C1 1961 front end

I have put a 1 piece front end from Legendary Corvette Parts (now out of business) on my 61 and am now trying to fit the hood. Its a hand laid hood also from Legendary and won't go low enough in the vertical adjustment to be flush with the body on the right front corner. The hood was about a half inch bigger than the hood opening so I ground the edges to fit. Now I'm wondering if the contour of the hood is wrong and I need to buy a press molded hood or if something else is causing the problem. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance.

Hi Richard

First of all, is the hood correct for your 61? Try adjusting the hood bumpers to allow the hood to sit lower and see if you can adjust the hinges.

Or perhaps the core support is mounted too high.
