I have the plates that I removed from the underbody of my car for the rear outer mounting plates for the seat tracks. The plates have 4 holes, 2 threaded for the 5/16 bolts and 2 for rivets like the inner mount plates. These were not riveted to the body. Are these plates suppose to have the 2 holes for rivets or not? These outer rear mount seat plates were never riveted on my car. Thanks DG

Re: 65 Rear seat mount Outer plates
I was in a rush last night when I wrote my question. My outer plates for the rear seat tracks underbody, were sort of bonded or simply stuck from 40 years of being held under pressure. The only bonding agent was a fiberglass resin/type material. I need to know if these plates should have 4 holes, 2 for the 5/16" bolts and 2 for rivets just like the inner plates. The AM only showed the inner plates with their rivets but nothing on the outer plates. Thanks DG- Top

4 holes; but not riveted on my '66
Dick,
The rear seat mount outer plates on my '66 have the 4 holes but they were not riveted, so when I unscrewed the two bolts, the plates simply fell off. So, they should have 4 holes, 2 for screws and 2 for rivets, but for some reason they were not riveted, at least on my car.

Re: 4 holes; but not riveted on my '66
Hi!
I just completed the underside of my 63 SWC and the rear outside seat mounting plates must be the same as yours. There are holes to rivet the mounting plates to the floor pan on the out side plates, but not riveted.
